Deep links to company websites
When clicking on a link to go to a company website, would like to go to search results for my trip instead of the main page for the company

We know this is a major issue, and we’re working on ways to provide it (as well as the “connections” required to make it happen). Due to the variance in supplier websites and policies, we may have to start with a partial solution – where some links go deep and others stay generic.

The original title of this entry was “What if I want to go from Cincinnati to Rome?” – it has been changed to be more specific to the function being requested.
For trips from one region (North America) to another (Europe), the only feasible option is to fly – therefore we don’t think there is much of a need for a website like Passport Junkie when sites like kayak.com, orbitz.com, and expedia.com already do such a good job at real-time searching of airfare deals. That said, we’ll see what the people say.

Costs at the individual airlines, rail lines, etc level
Instead of the one cost shown per trip, would like to see more information on cost level for each airline, rail company, bus company, etc that is listed in search results.

Translations or guiding notes on non-english websites
It would be very helpful if links that re-direct to foreign websites allow the user to view the site in english. There are some translation services for this. However, I realize this is often easier said than done. Another possibility.. which may or may not be less complex... is to open the foreign site in a frame where some notes appear on the frame side bar (easier), or as pop-up notes as you scroll over a link (harder). These notes would draw attention in English to various non-English aspects of the page, so that the user can feel confident in… more

Thanks for the suggestion – where a particular website is available only in a foreign language (Spanish rail website is the only one that comes to mind), we’ve tried to give you some hints on how to book a ticket, or at least tried to give you a heads-up in the "What else should I know about? section…let me know if we missed any), and we’ll definitely evaluate ways to do this going forward.

Save my trip option.
An option to save travel arrangements into a user's "My Trips" section. It will also archive all the trips other passport junkie users have made through the website.

Agreed – in fact if you look at the “Request More Cities” forum (link is on the right side of the page, or http://feedback.passportjunkie.com/pages/14760-request-more-cities) you’ll see a few Canadian cities already on the list and open for your votes (feel free to suggest more as well).
The cities currently listed are the top-visited cities for foreign travelers in North America – that’s just where we started…we certainly hope to end up with information about more cities, but we’re also looking to the travelers who visit our site to help guide us!

include green tortoise adventure travel
Include alternative ways to get from one place to another. For example Green Tortoise Adventure travel can get you from San Francisco to Boston stopping at national parks along the way, or direct overnight us rides from SF to Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

Agree they have some good trips. They blur the line between scheduled transport and tour though, so we’re trying to figure out how to best represent their trips in our database.

Winter travelling and high winds.
Often times when my husband and I travel abroad, weather is a major factor on how I decide to travel. The airline sites won't tell you that a flight is cancelled until the last minute. An experienced traveller like myself knows that if it is snowing hard in an area and previous flights have been cancelled, its likely your flight be cancelled too.
I would love to see the destination weather in my results as well so I can decide based on that. Cheers.

Thanks for submitting the idea, that definitely could be useful for folks who are planning last-minute…will look into doing that kind of integration/providing that kind of information.
